I recently discovered that two year olds are notoriously difficult to party plan for, especially when it comes to finding fillers for the party bags. They’re still at the age where things go in their mouths, so any of the small, cheap fillers you would give to older children are a definite no! I obviously didn’t want to be spending a fortune on larger toys, and there are only so many tubes of bubbles you can put in. Here’s what we put into the party bags for Babybel’s second birthday.
Babybel already has something similar to these, and she absolutely loves them. They’re very handy for the endless renditions of ‘Old MacDonald Had a Farm’ and other nursery rhymes. They’re also really cute and great for teaching toddlers the names of various animals.
I haven’t yet met a toddler that doesn’t like stickers. But I’ve also found that a lot of stickers are not easy to remove from the various different surfaces they get stuck to. These cheap stickers are the foamy type that are really easy to remove and come in all different characters; perfect for an array of picky toddlers!
Mini Slinkies:
The perfect size to fit into the party bag, and hours of fun. These brightly coloured slinkies are from Asda.
Bubbles:
No toddler party bag is complete without bubbles. These ones are also from the party bag section at Asda. The lids seem to be a bit tricky for toddlers to open, meaning that they hopefully can’t get into them unsupervised and spill them everywhere!
The decorations for the party included lots of flowers and butterflies as these were some of Babybel’s favourite things at the time. These masks were perfect for the theme, and the perfect size for little toddler faces.
Water Pistols:
Another find in the Asda party bag section. Not only are these fun for the toddlers, but they’re also great to help develop their motor skills and build up the strength in their hands.
Grow Your Own Wild Flowers:
I didn’t want the party bags to just be full of pointless plastic stuff that would instantly get thrown away. These Eco Inspired Party Favours are ideal if you’re trying to be more environmentally conscious. Plus they were perfect for our party theme.
I also added a mini packet of Haribos to each bag as I knew that none of the attending toddlers had any issues with sweets.
