Leane If you’re anything like me, you’ll probably remember receiving 10-15 Easter eggs every year, which, although exciting, kind of made you feel done with chocolate by the time you got to the eighth one! To avoid this for Babybel, we’ve decided to start our own traditions, and have made up an Easter basket for her each year. I can’t believe this is the third basket that I’ve made up for her, time is going too fast.
I try to make the items Easter themed where possible, but things that she can use throughout the year. Anything that is really Easter specific though gets re-used, and there are a few things on this list that have been in the basket for the past two years.

Let’s start with the basket itself. I bought these bunny ones as a last minute purchase from Amazon a couple of days before Babybel’s first Easter. Up until that point I didn’t even know that people gave anything other than chocolate eggs and she certainly wasn’t having any of those at 5 months old! As I’ve got four of these little baskets, I’ll probably be using them for many years to come.
And in the basket this year we have got:
I’m not going to lie, I’m really excited to see how these look on the patio. Babybel loves drawing and colouring, and we spent a lot of time last year chalking everything in the garden, so I’ve got high hopes for these chalks.
Babybel has a couple of Peter Rabbit books and toys, so I though this Easter book would be a nice addition. New books are always a hitting this house as Babybel loves reading, and although she has lots of books, it feels like I end up reading each one at least twice a week!
Stickers
What toddler doesn’t love stickers? These ones are left over from when I made up the party bags for Babybel’s birthday party. They’re not Easter themed, but they’re bright and colourful, and easy to remove from the furniture.
We’ve had a few sets of these bath crayons and I’m really impressed by how easily they wash off of the bath and tiles (and toddlers). They keep Babybel occupied in the bath for ages, meaning I can get on with doing my make up in peace, or cleaning the rest of the bathroom.
Egg shaped crayons – easy to hold and perfect for colouring in Easter themed colouring pages. I bought these last year and they have been used quite a few times but I took them out of rotation around Christmas so hopefully Babybel’s forgotten about them and thinks they’re new!
Colouring pages
These colouring pages are just simple ones I made up on Canva last year and printed out again this year. Colouring books are really cheap to pick up from place like The Works and B&M if you don’t have access to a printer.
Play Doh has suddenly literally exploded into our lives, with Babybel doing ll sorts of role play tasks with it in the past few weeks. I’ve got these cheap Easter themed cookie cutters as I didn’t want to spend out on the expensive official Play Doh toys until I know that this isn’t just a passing interest.
A current favourite of Babybel’s is singing, dancing, and making as much noise as possible so I’ve got these little shaker eggs to make my life even noisier!
Seeds
We had some seeds left over from the party bags, but with them needing to be planted in spring, I thought they would make a great addition to the Easter basket.
No Easter would be complete without a cute bunny hopping around. I bought these ears from Amazon last year; Babybel wasn’t too keen on them last year but I’m hoping that as she understands a lot more now, and is happy to wear hair accessories, that she’ll love wearing the bunny ears.

They incorporate pattern recognition, colors, creatures, and styles. These usually focus on familiarization instead of memorization.
